Shut up and pose.
Every time I'm out and about, I can't help but think in photo opportunities.
That bus bench looks cool. Look at those flowers! That's a fun-patterned wall.
Sometimes I give in to the urge, and myself or my Instagram husband dutifully snap away.
Other times, I HATE the disruptive thoughts and refuse, forcing myself to ENJOY THE MOMENT, GOD DAMNIT!
Either way, there's guilt. Guilt for for NOT documenting the moment, or, for documenting it way too much.
The thing is, I'm a blogger. I'm a content curator. I'm a marketer. My ultimate goal is FOR my social media presence to give people "top of the funnel" awareness into my life, my writing, my blog, my brand...so I can build relationships and meet people and Make Cool Shit Happen.
If I'm being honest with myself, I know that I really need to just OWN IT. Lose the shame that comes with pausing real life to get that perfect pic and apply that perfect filter and add those hashtags and rake in the likes.
Because, in this online world, you are either reading the news or you ARE the news. You're consuming the content or you ARE the content. May you choose wisely.
